A garden of flowers

Putrajaya July 25: Putrajaya Floria 2007. also known as the Putrajaya Flower and Garden Festival will be launched on the 25th of August at the Putrajaya Lake club in Precinct 8. It is going to be a nine-day event in conjuction with Merdeka and Visit Malaysia Year.

The event which is going to be officially launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Badawi. is themed as the Rainbow Serenade. this floral fest will feature over 200 exhibits landscapers to garden products retailers and distributors.

This collaborative effort between PJC and the FT Ministry are the organisers responsible for the idea and concept. In his speech. PJC president Tan Sri Samsudin Osman said Putrajaya Floria was the local authority's way of "adding some colour to the parks."

There will also be a research and development centre for flowers of the Equator that will be set up in Putrajaya.
The involvement of Mardi will further reinforce Putrajaya Corporation's vision to promote Putrajaya as a floral city.

More than 300.000 visitors are expected at the festival to be held from 9am to 10pm on weekends and extended to midnight on weekends and public holidays.
